Mary Quant Daisy Doll Palette Review

[unpaid/sample] I’m not as familiar with the Daisy Doll arm of Mary Quant – to my surprise, there was actually a Mary Quant doll called Daisy! She’s called Daisy after the flower logo which actually, I did not even know was a daisy. Every day is a school day.

I’m impressed with this little quad – not droppy, smooth on the brush and applies well – the one point I would make is that the shades are deeper on the skin than they are in the pan. I’m not sure I’d pick this out for myself but did give it a (self conscious) go.

I’ve got the orange shade on my full lid and the brown as a crease colour just to give my lids a bit more definition. This is almost the same picture as yesterday’s Hourglass post because I used Hourglass Veil as a base for the Daisy Doll palette look. I’m also wearing the Mary Quant Billion Lashings Mascara in Brown (£30, HERE) which I like very much – it’s given me nicely defined and spiky lashes although I had to use about three coats.

This is how it swatches up alongside a swatch of the Glitter Eye Pen which I absolutely love. The palette is £13.50 which feels very reasonable to me. It’s HERE.

You have to be confident with a brush style pen to get a perfect line above (or below) your lashes. It’s not my forte, I must admit, but the glittery line it leaves is so shiny it’s miraculous – when the light catches it, it beams. The colour I have is Shimmering White Crystal, but there are two others, Champagne Gold and Dainty Pink. They’re £13 HERE.

My next shout out is the gorgeous lip balm – Mary Quant Colour Shine For Lips. It’s called Clear Peach (04) and is exactly like the older style Stila milky glosses. I’m wearing it in the picture above and you can see it’s a subtle gloss but has a beautiful shine. The thing I like about these (there are fifteen) is that they have no smell or flavour.

That swatch is the lipgloss and the brown mascara.

The Hand Cream is interesting – perfumed with ‘special recipes’ which makes me think of secret sauce! It’s a lot like Steam Cream in weight and looseness – a little goes a long way and if I could drill down the scent to anything, it would be sun cream. It’s got that lightly tropical vibe but really, it’s very minimal. When I look at the ingredient list, the first ingredient is Jasmine Water so I realise I have the Jasmine version but there is also a Rose hand cream, first on the ingredient list, Rose Water. I like the delicacy of both the fragrance and the weight. It’s £19 HERE.
