[unpaid/sample/affiliate/ad] Givenchy’s Le 9 palette is a bit of a masterpiece in understated neutrals by making them shimmery, metallic or matte. There’s something always pretty about a shimmering shadow that has a bit more body than a pastel but stays on the nude spectrum.
These are far away from Charlotte Tilbury neutrals and nudes which personally I find a bit aggressive. I’m not usually one for less pigment but this is a reminder of how flattering gentle shades can be. They don’t lack pigment, they’re just not overly pigmented.
I’m also quite enamoured with the little brush that comes with this palette – it’s a double ender that slots together to make a brush you can actually hold and do something with.
From bottom to top : the first trio is metallic, the second shimmer and the third is matte although I would say that there isn’t a big leap between metallic and shimmer. I could use this quite easily in almost every shade for a mono lid just to brighten and awaken my lids. It’s the kind of palette that won’t shake the earth but will be useful every single time you want to do something with your eyes. This palette is Le 9.09 – there are various options – and it’s on Escentual for £56.95 instead of £67 (only 3 in stock though HERE). Otherwise, it’s available at full price in all the usual places but I’ll drop a John Lewis link HERE.
